The Corporate Sales Trainer will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering comprehensive sales training programs for our sales team. Your goal will be to enhance the sales team’s knowledge, skills, and performance, ensuring they are equipped to achieve their sales targets and contribute to the company's growth. You will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our salesforce by fostering a deep understanding of our construction products, services, and market strategies.

 

Core Responsibilities:

 

  • Utilize existing sales training programs that align with the company’s objectives and the specific needs of the sales team. This may include but is not limited to; lead setting to in-home sales to contracting, including researching, and recommending to the management team how to use the newest technologies to improve the process.
  • Teach advanced sales techniques, negotiation strategies, and effective communication skills tailored to the construction industry.
  • Identify high-potential sales representatives and provide them with training and mentorship to prepare them for future management roles within the organization. Foster leadership skills, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of the company’s operations to support their growth into management positions.
  • Ensure the sales team has a deep understanding of our construction products and services, including features, benefits, applications, and competitive advantages.
  • Lead the onboarding process for new sales hires, ensuring they are quickly integrated and equipped to contribute effectively.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and mentorship to sales representatives to help them overcome challenges, refine their techniques, and reach their sales goals.
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, surveys, and performance metrics; make continuous improvements based on the results.
  • Actively monitor and report on conversion rates, closing rates and sales.
  • Conduct skills gap analyses to identify areas of improvement.
  • Keep the sales team informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to better position our offerings in the market.
  • Train the sales team on using CRM systems, sales tools, and other technologies to enhance efficiency and track progress.
  • Work closely with sales leadership, marketing, and production teams to ensure training content is relevant, up-to-date, and aligned with the company’s strategy.
  • Organize and conduct regular sales meetings, workshops, and role-playing sessions to reinforce training concepts and encourage team collaboration.
  • Perform other duties assigned.

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management, or a related field required.
  • Advanced degree or certifications in sales training, a plus.
  • Previous experience is a must; at least two years of previous sales trainer experience.
  • Must have trained in excess of ten people.
  • Strong background in construction sales with a deep understanding of the industry’s sales processes, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Expertise in instructional design, curriculum development, and learning principles. Experience with e-learning platforms and virtual training is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage and inspire a diverse sales team.
  • Strong leadership and coaching abilities with a track record of improving sales performance.
  • Ability to analyze sales data and identify areas for improvement, as well as measure the effectiveness of training programs.
  • Flexibility to adjust training methods based on individual and team needs, as well as the evolving construction market landscape.
  • Proficient in using CRM software (Salesforce preferred), sales analytics tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be dependable, maintain regular attendance and be punctual.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team setting.
