Job Description

The Boulders Resort and Spa is a large, high-end resort that spans an impressive 1,300 acres of the Sonoran Desert foothills with panoramic views of 12-million-year-old boulder formations. Offering a luxurious 33,000 sq. ft. spa, championship golf course, and exclusive service in a uniquely dramatic setting. With resort restaurants offer captivating views from every turn.

General Purpose:

Directs and oversees all aspects of Golf Operations (2 golf courses) and Recreation Operations including racquet sports, fitness activities and relationships between guests, membership, associates and community. Has the ultimate responsibility for maximum guest satisfaction and financial performance.

Essential Duties:

  • Develops, implements, and monitors annual budget, revenue goals and expenses for golf operations departments.
  • Provides timely and accurate reporting of all financial and non-financial information as directed, requested or required by management.
  • Monitors monthly and other financial reports/statements on a daily, weekly and monthly basis for the facility and takes effective corrective action when necessary.
  • Develops, maintains and administers sound organizational plans and initiates improvements as necessary.
  • Maintains membership with the PGA and CMAA and other professional associations. Attends workshops and meetings to keep abreast of current information and developments.
  • Oversees the care and maintenance of all the facilities physical assets.
  • Coordinates marketing programs designed to promote the facility’s services to potential customers.
  • Ensures the highest standards of quality for the golfing experience.
  • Implements policies and procedures for the Golf, Recreation and Golf Course Maintenance Departments, including compliance of all company standards relating to quality of products and services.
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Assures that effective orientation and training are given to each new associate. Develops ongoing training programs.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA); or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • Recent Private Club Membership Experience

Physical Demands:

Regularly stands, walks and sits. Occasionally climbs or balances; stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches. Frequently uses hands; reaches with hands and arms. Frequently talks or hears; tastes or smells. Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.

Environment/Noise:

  • Occasionally works in wet or humid conditions (non-weather).
  • Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions. Noise level is moderate.

Certificates/Licenses:

  • Class A member of PGA/LPGA

Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:

  • Ability to read and speak English is required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates are required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with computerized POS and tee time system.
