Job Description
We are seeking an experienced IAM Administrator to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to work remotely, although candidates must be located in the Austin area. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems, particularly Okta, and have extensive hands-on experience with IAM processes and tools. This is a senior-level position with responsibility for overseeing the design, implementation, and operation of IAM solutions, with a focus on security, automation, and optimization of user access management.
Key Responsibilities
Identity & Access Management (IAM): Lead the design, configuration, and implementation of Okta solutions, including user lifecycle management, integrations, and authentication methods such as SAML, OAuth, and OIDC.
Collaboration & Leadership: Work closely with technical and non-technical teams to ensure IAM solutions align with organizational goals and security practices. You will take a hands-on approach to lead and coordinate the integration of IAM tools.
System Integration & Automation: Implement and manage automated solutions for Okta deployment, user onboarding, offboarding, and lifecycle management. You will leverage tools like Jenkins to optimize and streamline processes.
Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting: Use strong analytical skills to resolve technical issues and optimize IAM processes. Ensure seamless communication between directories and on-prem/cloud applications.
Documentation & Reporting: Document system configurations, data flows, and deployment architecture, and generate reports that communicate technical information clearly to stakeholders.
Best Practices & Compliance: Ensure all IAM processes adhere to industry best practices and applicable regulations. Provide technical oversight throughout the lifecycle of IAM projects, ensuring high-quality implementations.
Required Qualifications
IAM Experience: At least 8 years of experience with Identity and Access Management tools and processes, including hands-on experience with Okta.
Technical Expertise: Extensive knowledge of IAM systems, including IBM Security Identity Manager (ITIM/ISIM), IBM Security Access Manager (TAM/ISAM), and Okta solutions.
Authentication Methods: Proficiency in authentication protocols such as SAML, OAuth, and OIDC.
Lifecycle Management: Experience in implementing Okta's user lifecycle management, including bulk loads and onboarding/offboarding processes.
Directory Services: Knowledge of directory services and experience migrating users between directories.
Cloud & Automation: Expertise in cloud-based solutions, specifically AWS, and familiarity with automating IAM processes using Jenkins and related technologies.
On-call Support: Experience in 24x7 on-call rotation for IAM-related support and troubleshooting.
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to diverse audiences and produce clear, concise documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
Additional IAM Tools: Familiarity with tools like RSA IAM, Oracle IdM, Tivoli Directory Integrator (TDI), and others.
Programming Skills: Experience with Java, JavaScript, Python, SQL, or similar languages.
Agile & CI/CD: Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum, and knowledge of CI/CD practices for containerized applications.
Security Certifications: Security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM) are a plus.
Project Management: Experience managing IAM projects and understanding complex federal and state legislation as it pertains to IAM solutions.
