As a
Veterinary Assistant in
Urgent Care you will be responsible for:
- Triaging patients
- Must be skilled in catheter placement and venipuncture.
- Obtaining and reporting vitals, prioritizing patient treatments and delegating tasks if needed
- Recognize changes in patient status and report to doctor
- Utilizing different imaging modalities (radiographs, ultrasound)
- Administer and monitor patients for anesthetic/sedation procedures- dental experience highly preferred
Compensation range:
$19-$244/10 hour shifts, weekend availability is
required Responsibilities: - Serve as an intermediary between doctor and client for non-essential communication
- Collect and summarize detailed histories regarding patients that present through the emergency room following triage with Emergency Technicians
- Create and present treatment plans to the clients
- Communicate between doctors and technicians what treatments (blood draws, procedures, etc.) need to be done.
- Assist the doctor with patient-related tasks through the entirety of the shift.
- Manage consent forms with clients.
- Document conversations between clients and the attending doctor.
- Handle miscellaneous prescription requests, client callbacks, lab work entries etc.
About You: - 2+ years clinical experience. Anesthesia experience required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Knowledge and practical application of basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division is required
- Must have weekend availability
